I want to get one thing straight right out of the gate...I'm a real person on a real mission. I see many other sites around the net sharing PlayStation 3 deals and Xbox 360 deals, and I can't help but be disgusted with how poorly executed and spammy they look. Instead of providing value to the consumer, they are just "sell, sell, sell" and don't even seem like they are run by a real person.
I've been running the GameExchangeShop as a business for over a year now. It started with me selling some of my old video game systems for extra money (I was a broke college student). Once I realized the potential of reselling systems and games, I found my niche and started a fairly lucrative business.
Over time as I grew and refined the process (look for an eBook soon), I realized that I need a website. After some research and budget planning, I started GameExchangeShop.com. My original intentions with the site was to share answers to frequently asked questions I received while running my business. You know, the basic stuff that the general population doesn't know about electronics (i.e. how to sync a controller, differences between consoles, upgrading your hard drive). However, after awhile ideas just started to pop.
I became an Amazon, Newegg and bestbuy affiliate and began offering daily deals from other websites summarized on my site. This included:
I've been on a mission ever since to provide great content, get the message out (through blogs, bookmarking, etc) and rise to the top of ranking so I can give customers what they really want (not some thrown together money grab).
That's my story so far. As always, I have other things in the works, but my primary focus is the success of this site not only for myself, but consumers looking for the best video game deals around. Hope you enjoy what I have to say and look forward to hearing from you!
